Candid engagement pictures are my favorite — ones where the couple is laughing, kissing, dancing, and looking like they are genuinely happy about being engaged (even though the photos are probably being taken in the middle of the wedding planning). Elizabeth of Elizabeth Carrie Photography is a pro at capturing these moments beautifully during an engagement session. BUT…
Of course there’s a “but.” As the couple, sometimes being candid while knowing someone is photographing you is easier said than done. I’ll admit, it can feel awkward. The secret? LET IT GO. Seriously. Just let go of the awkwardness, or at least decide to be OK with feeling a little awkward for a few hours during your engagement session. Trust me, the engagement photos will turn out sweeter than you ever imagined when you let go, laugh and act a little extra lovey-dovey.
Elizabeth and I are working on more posts about engagement pictures and how to make sure you’re 100 percent happy with the way yours turn out. We’re planning to cover everything from outfits and makeup to poses and locations. If you have any questions you’d like answered by Elizabeth (trust me, she knows her stuff) or me and my experience, leave a comment below to see your Q about engagement pictures answered in an upcoming post.
