I don’t own many rompers, but this beachy one-piece by Lilly Pulitzer won me over with its colorful print (pink, of course) and inspired me to think more about how to wear a romper to fit my personal style.
Although it may be too casual for my office, I accentuated the romper’s effortless spirit with wedges and a denim jacket for a look perfect for weekend activities. I will note I typically avoid one-pieces when shopping, because taking them off and putting them on when trying on clothing can be inconvenient. That said, rompers are great for running errands, exploring or any other summer events when style and comfort are both important.
To dress up this romper for a dinner date, I love the idea of contrasting its bold print with a crisp white jacket and strappy heels. I’ve been eyeing this blazer from Forever 21 because of its flattering asymmetrical hem and low price. I own a similar black version and am obsessed with its fit and that it’s 100% polyester (I can shove that puppy in my suitcase when traveling and it stays wrinkle-free). It’s definitely the perfect summer piece to layer over a romper.
I’m super tough on rompers as well, but this one is great! I think you’ve nailed styling it and making a romper much more approachable!
