Now that I am living in Italy, I’m trying my hardest to talk the talk and walk the walk — easier said than done since I didn’t know any Italian (besides “Ciao!”) before moving here. Kate and I have been brushing up on some key phrases from our Italian pocketbook and have decided to master at least one each day. “Non parlo l’italiano. Parla inglese?”
Since arriving here last week, we have tried a few Italian restaurants, legally drank wine, enjoyed a lot of gelato and explored much of the city. Everything here is beautiful, from the buildings to the scenery, and I love how we have never gotten lost… we’ve just been on many adventures.
These photos were taken by one of our favorite spots so far, the Ponte Vecchio, which crosses the Arno. We have spent a few nights strolling around the river, which is amazing because summer nights in Florence are cool and breezy.
